The Harmony Oaks Oral History project is a documentation and preservation of the living history of former and current residents of the Harmony Oaks community. The Project led by Shantrelle P. Lewis, a New Orleans native and conducted by a team of socio-cultural professionals. This project was designed to create a record of the former and present Magnolia Projects now known as Harmony Oaks. Consisting of a documentary, which features interviews of former C.J. Peete residents, it also includes a permanent exhibition which is housed in the Harmony Oaks Community Center. The project also seeks to educate former C.J. Peete residents about ways in which they can pro-actively preserve the collective history of their families and community.
